Thanks for asking us to be part of the video for Vantage Point Church, the class has helped us so much that we hope other people are able to benefit from it too. When we left your house I realized there was another positive change that FPU made in our lives which is we can raise our children with the values that FPU taught us, that the borrower is slave to the lender, and that in the end our money is God's money anyway, it is all his, so we can love, serve, and honor him! My husband and I, are not perfect and we were raised in the material world of this culture, but I find that I'm happier now with less, so we can make it to the next baby step and have financial freedom, and continue to live debt free! FPU was truly an answer to my prayer after we decided to short sale our house, I felt down. When I walked into our first FPU class, I could not stop the tears because I know the Holy Spirit led us to this church and my prayer was answered. When I heard other's stories I felt normal, and I could relate to many of their struggles. My husband and I had some goals, of getting a new house and helping our financial situation, but no detailed plan on how to get there. FPU taught us how to communicate about finances in a healthy way, and for the first time in our marriage, we do not avoid the topic of money. Today in our nine year anniversary I proud to say we are debt free and in Baby Step #3, and we added Baby step #3b which is to save up for a good down payment. I am no longer doubtful of our financial future because we have a well thought out plan for our family's financial success and stability. We are forever grateful to Vantage Point Church and all the people that assist the FPU ministry for reaching out to the community- the children of God.
